My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that learning music should not be a privilege reserved for a select few, but an opportunity available to anyone with the determination to pursue it. A musician is not defined solely by performances in concert halls—musicians also play at weddings, enhance ceremonies, and create the music we hear in everyday life, whether at a bus stop or in a gym. Even in an age dominated by electronic music, these sounds still originate from human dedication and creativity.

At its core, music is not lofty or inaccessible. It is entertainment, healing, and a bridge for communication that transcends language. While professional musicians play an important role, those who learn and play simply for joy, curiosity, or expression are equally worthy of respect. Learning music doesn’t have to mean aiming for technical perfection or grand stages—it’s about personal connection, exploration, and passion.

My approach is not based on levels or checklists, but on helping each student discover their artistic identity, build technical confidence, and develop the ability to communicate through sound.

With experience as a concertmaster and featured guest artist in a PBS production directed by an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, I bring real-world performance insight into every lesson—whether you're preparing for a competition, pursuing a career, or simply deepening your relationship with music.
